From the North Wilts Herald on Friday the 1st of November 1918
The death took place on Friday, at the Cottage Hospital, Malmesbury, of Miss Julia Hanks, youngest daughter of the late Mr. James Hanks, the Horsefair, the cause of death being pneumonia.
Miss Hanks was 32 years of age. The funeral took place on Tuesday, the first portion of the service being held at the Westport Congregational Church. The Rev. G. W. Ennos conducted the service and also officiated at the Cemetery.
The hymns, “Peace perfect peace,” and “For ever with the Lord,” were sung, and the organist (Mr. F. E. Smith) played the Dead March at the close.
The mourners were Messrs. James and William Hanks (brothers), Mrs. Pike and Miss Mary Hanks (sisters), and Mr. George Hanks (Bristol), and Mr. William Ponting (uncles). Much sympathy is extended to the bereaved family, who as recently as May last lost their father, Mr. J. Hanks.
