Private Rosebottom, a Lancashire Territorial, was taken to the Malmesbury Cottage Hospital, on Monday morning, suffering from a badly crushed foot, caused by a train. He was on sentry duty on the line about 6.30 a.m., and had just stepped out of the way of one train when another came by in the opposite direction and caught his foot under the wheels. In the hospital his foot had to be amputated.
