From the Wiltshire Times on Saturday the 26th of February 1916
James Hatton, farm labourer, aged 37, in the employ of Mr. Albert Shewring, Lea, met with an accident on Saturday morning.
He was going into a stable when he slipped and fell on the pitching. In trying to save himself he put out his left arm and this caused it to jerk sharply, which dislocated his shoulder.
He was taken to the Malmesbury Cottage Hospital, where the shoulder was replaced by Dr. Pitt. He is progressing favourably.
